Zach this list is currently battling to make it into the finals of the SCG this morning. It's not as full blown reanimator as yours but it still has unburial rites and it looked pretty good on the live stream from what I could tell. It also has your OBZEDAT - Junk Creatures (23) 3 Deathrite Shaman 4 Lotleth Troll 3 Loxodon Smiter 4 Restoration Angel 4 Thragtusk 2 Vampire Nighthawk 3 Obzedat, Ghost Council Lands (24) 2 Cavern of Souls 4 Godless Shrine 4 Isolated Chapel 4 Overgrown Tomb 2 Sunpetal Grove 4 Temple Garden 4 Woodland Cemetery Spells (13) 3 Abrupt Decay 4 Ultimate Price 4 Farseek 2 Unburial Rites Sideboard 1 Deathrite Shaman 3 Rhox Faithmender 3 Blind Obedience 3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben 2 Liliana of the Veil 1 Sever the Bloodline 2 Terminus

Oh god. So much more money than my list. Between the three death rites, the 4th tusk, and 3rd Obzedat, I'm looking at another 80 bucks.

Honestly when I was building mine, deathrites had a 4-of slot. However, the deck doesn't run many spells, and his version has a hard time getting land into the yard, honestly, I don't know if it's right for his list. And I've been thinking about playing resto angels for a while now. And there it comes down to angel vs souls, and they both have their strong points. Angel comes on turn three, following a Farseek, but typically you're using it to get another trigger out of your tusk. Decisions, decisions.

I think one of the reason's he ran the deathrites was a metagame call for this SCG tournament specifically. Since reanimator looked like the new hot deck to beat a lot of people made adjustments. One of the top 8 mono red lists for instance ran 3 rest in peace out of the board.
Deathrite always has a lot of targets anyways because creatures will die and spells will get played

Zach, I have Restoration Angels, Tusks, and Deathrites that I probably won't be using.

That's right. Deathrites target any yard. I'm not gonna run a 4th tusk. I like my obzedats.

Between Smiter and Healer, I'd go for Smiter. Four toughness seems to be the magic number right now, with all the Searing Spears flying around.

You have plenty of life between Thragtusk, Obzedat, and Deathrite. You also have Angel of Serenity and Unburial Rites to get more free life.
