Needs more allies for Excavator, needs more creatures that don't trade with a 2/1 when attacking, needs more creatures, period. Still should have been at least a 2-1 deck. :/ ZZW is a terrible format. Here's "one of the best Limited players worldwide!" drafting a nuts deck online and what happened in his first round: www.blackborder.com/q/node/6102I know it's technically bad form to disagree with the pros, but I thought he really messed up on this one, first by passing a Living Tsunami, then passing a Windrider Eel for a fetch-land, then passing an Umara Raptor for a Living Tsunami, then passing Halimar Excavator and Join the Ranks because he "didn't have enough Allies", then taking a Join the Ranks a couple picks later. Granted, his opponent had some pretty sick draws, but I still disagree with a bunch of his choices.

Yeah, I can't disagree with how the deck looked in the end, just the draft itself. I liked the Living Tsunami over Umara Raptor. The 4/4 is way ahead of the curve and I wouldn't place my bets that a lot of allies would be passed to make the Raptor better. Makindi Shieldmate over Cliff Threader and Kraken Hatchling is so awful. Also, there's still an Inferno Trap in the pack, because for some reason, when pros draft online, there's always 7th-pick removal. Surrakar Banisher second pick third pack is just as bad. He mentions how he has Living Tsunami for non-basics three times and takes the overcosted Man-O'-War over the Halimar Depths. Goliath Sphinx over Wind Zendikon seems wrong to me as well, but maybe I'm not looking at it right. The deck already has four 2-drop fliers and a bunch of ground stall. He's passed Cancel after Cancel, and yet he thinks that playing a 7-drop fattie (even if it is 8/7 flying) would fit better than another 2-drop flier. Same thing with the Mysteries of the Deep. Personally, I love Aether Tradewinds, but then again, I always have it in hand when my opponent plays Vapor Snare. In this deck, it looks too expensive.

The only reason I did not like the Tsunami over the Raptor was the fact that he had already passed one (plus he passed the Windrider Eel, which is pretty sick with the Tsunami).
I always make sure that I have a Halimar Depths whenever I get a Tsunami, and there aren't many cards I would pick over the Tsunami.
