Hey folks,
Here's the next string of upcoming events if any of you are interested-
6/19/10 - Fargo, ND PTQ. About a 7 hour drive so I probably won't go to this, although I've heard from Stephan and Cody that the field is usually soft and it's apparently where John T got top 8.
7/3/10 - Chicago, IL PTQ. This is probably the one of the few PTQs worth consideration this summer because it's close-by and takes place before M11 rotates in.
7/10/10 - M11 Pre-Release
8/5-8/8 - Gen-Con (again, barring any financial upheavals, I'll be getting a hotel for this)
I still haven't heard much input on GenCon, I'd really like to hear more from you guys. I know Zach is pumped for it (if his Dad lets him go), but Big T you're notably absent along with the others. Also, Chris I thought I remember you saying you had an interest in coming out from Pheonix, is that at all possible?
Btw, Chris, if you're interested in PTQing at all this summer, there's a few events coming up in the general region-
6/19 - Mesa, AZ PTQ (25 min drive) 7/24 - Henderson, NV PTQ (5 hr drive)

My initial thoughts on the upcoming events: Fargo - 7 hours is a long way to drive (remember Kansas City?) for one tournament. We'd probably have to dedicate a whole weekend to it, and I have a feeling that would not be an efficient use of time and resources. Chicago - I am standing up in a wedding that day. M11 pre-release - I wasn't too thrilled about this, until I read about Sun Titan. That's an EDH card if I ever saw one. Gen Con - It's a long way off, and I haven't really thought much about it. At this moment, I haven't really been playing regularly (bowling and basketball have gotten in the way), so taking vacation time and spending a couple hundred bucks on a trip like this doesn't sound like a good investment. I'll have to think about it some more and see which side of the fence I fall on.

Problem is that my work week doesn't include Saturdays off. If I really wanted to, I could switch with a day off but Saturdays are pretty quiet at work and it's an easy day to get shit done.
