Quick question regarding my Teneb/Karador deck: - I've discovered that I need to add at least one 4cc creature to solidify my Birthing Pod chain in this deck. So far, the only creatures I have at the four spot are Krovikan Horror (sac outlet, small removal), Oracle of Mul Daya, and Creakwood Liege (makes fodder and pumps).
The two choices I'm considering are Academy Rector and Solemn Simulacrum. Now, I love me a Solemn as much as anyone, but the reason I hadn't played with him yet is that he is in EVERY other deck I've ever made, and in green I have smaller ramping guys like Wood Elves and STE to fill the same purpose.
The Rector is a different matter entirely. Here's my thoughts on him in EDH: - On the plus side, he is a huge rattlesnake. Nobody wants to attack into this guy and give me a free Grave Pact or Mirari's Wake directly into play. - On the minus side, I absolutely hate anything that self-exiles. The only flashback card I'll ever play is Army of the Damned because, well, it's hilarious.
The enchantments I have right now are as follows: - Aura Shards - Black Market - Golgari Germination - Grave Pact - Greater Good - Mirari's Wake - Perilous Forays - Pernicious Deed - Phyrexian Arena - Phyrexian Reclamation - Sterling Grove - Strands of Night
So, I'm curious if anyone has a thought on this matter. Right now I'm leaning towards putting the Rector in, and also fitting Martyr's Bond in here somewhere.

I vote for Rector. You have plenty of bomb enchantments to grab with him. Yes, only being able to do it once kind of sucks...but being able to go find any enchantment when it dies and then plop it right in to play is pretty ridiculous.

Definitely Rector. Given the enchantments you're going to have in this style of deck, his versatility is far better to remedy or compliment the given situation that Solemn's land and draw.

I play Solemn in every deck, and he's nuts with pod. That being said, I'd likely play them both.
Cheers
