Despite the whining I've seen on those, I can honestly support both. Never played with Griselbrand, but I figured he would be short lived. As for Sundering Titan, I haven't played with him in forever because it just felt wrong to have him in a deck. I think the ban just makes the "don't be a dick" rule official on him.

I think that if you are worried about a card that costs 8, of which 4x are B, you aren't keeping up. I would rather play Necro, you get the cards you need and can fine tune the card drawing (and noone plays discard in EDH it seems). At least Sundering Titan is an artifact that can be cheated into play.
I should also mention I have Zur/Clique in the back pocket if I ever need to play dirty.

There's a big difference between Grisel and Necro. He lacks that key EOT restriction and he has lifelink to keep you drawing cards. If Yawgmoth's Bargain is banned, then he should be on the list as well.

I agree with Andrew: being able to respond to anything by drawing 20-30 cards at once is a pretty big deal. The lifelink part is just gravy.

I can see why he got banned, but to do it so fast....there was barely time to have fun with it. This was a card from the most recent block set. I've heard it said the game developers have many formats to consider when creating a new set, and this card was made for EDH. How many people around the world bought one specifically for EDH, and just got a d*** in their face? Certainly, ban him...but wait a cycle.
The flip side of the coin: They finally banned Sundering Titan... Once a card is so universally accepted as too abusive that no one is a friend group runs it, it goes without saying that it should be banned. That, and it's been EDH legal for how many blocks now? Speaking for both of these two cards, a reasonable EDH lifetime for cards of this caliber would be the average of the two.
