Has anyone noticed that there are some awesome cards for EDH in this new set? We've got a few sweet generals (I really want to build around the mono green flash-elf) and a lot of cards with cool abilities. The blue guy who can target a general, put them both on top and then shuffle seems great. www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/article.aspx?x=mtg/tcg/magic2013/cig

There's also a reprint of Akroma's Memorial and two new planeswalkers, both of which will be quite good in EDH. New Ajani costs only three mana (Sun Titan), and new Liliana is great for ramping up black decks.

Let me say, I'm stopping playing non-blue decks if there aren't some major bans. The blue "put their general into their deck" guy is sick. Ditto for Worldfire.
Plus I can't believe they made another Merfolk Lord. In legacy, we ALREADY have enough fucking Merfolk Lords, not like you couldn't reprint Lord of Atlantis? Could they give us like 3-4 different variations on Muscle Sliver? I would be happy with that...

They have two versions of Muscle Sliver, I thought. Plus, Merfolk isn't really all that good in Legacy anymore, now that blue players have Delver and Snapcaster Mage.
@void Stalker: It's a good tool, but not an overly broken one. It's a one-toughness creature with no evasion or protection, and it doesn't have haste, so you should at least be able to see it coming. Plus, black and green already have a ton of tutors for generals.

Void Stalker is just 5-mana blue removal. I'm not saying its bad, but it's also not that easy to abuse and you run the risk of not pulling it off either. Spin into Myth is better, given the huge number of ways blue already has to recur spells from the graveyard. Or you can rock the Proteus Staff for a little chaos Cards I'm loving so far: New Ajani, Talrand, Diabolic Revelation, Liliana I'm also happy to see reprints of some big staples, like Akroma's Memorial. I haven't touched cards in months though. Anything from Avacyn that's turning into a staple of the format?

Well, Avacyn is pretty good in EDH, as are all of her other angels.
Griselbrand is already banned in the 40-life format, for obvious reasons. He's also quite good in Legacy Dredge, Reanimate, and Sneak/Show.
Cavern of Souls is a very useful tool in Legacy Maverick, but it probably isn't all that great in EDH outside of a few tribal decks.
Restoration Angel has drawn comparison to Mistbind Clique (four mana flying flash creature) and is used in a variety of different Standard decks. It probably has applications in EDH as well.
Craterhoof Behemoth is a hasty Overrun creature that probably turns even a modest bunch of creatures into a lethal attack.
I'm sure there are a few others that I'm missing.
As for M13, I'm excited for new planeswalkers, reprinted Akroma's Memorial, Talrand, Yeva, Diabolic Revelation, and Omniscience.

I'm looking forward to Gem of Becoming. 1+3 mana for 3 lands into hand? Yes please! I wish they would make this into a cycle instead of just making it Grixis.
The rings look like an interesting idea where you get +1/+1 counters if it's in the correct color. Sadly the blue one that gives hexproof is activated and in blue (where hexproof isn't as awesome). The green one is crazy! +1/+1 counters AND trample?

Agreed on making the Gem thing a cycle, although I suppose it's designed to be a thing specifically for Nicol Bolas. Would be nice to get a cycle of those things.

Two more reprints announced: one a useless card that no one cares about (Battle of Wits) and another that is super awesome (Gilded Lotus)!

It'll still retain some value. For sure will drop though, as the art is the same.
Cheers

Full spoiler is now up on mtgsalvation.
Lots of good reprints (Akroma's Memorial, Mutilate, Gilded Lotus, Reliquary Tower, etc), and some fun new cards as well (exalted land, Yeva, Slumbering Dragon).
