I know there isn't a lot of information out there about this, but what does everyone think of these? Good? Bad? Indifferent? Not enough information about them? The announcement with Aaron Forsythe: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ5iIxJdZPw

Not enough info yet. There's the potential for some great cards, but the claim the product will be draftable means there will likely be some trash in there as well. A $6.99 MSRP is also pretty nuts.

My only worry is Aaron says you can draft storm vs faeries vs dredge. How do you draft a viable Dredge deck without Bridge from Below?
Plus with storm you need a bunch of cheap or free stuff. So if you don't put enough cheap/free cards for storm, it's not worth drafting storm. In order to push out enough cheap/free cards for storm, I worry they are going to push the necessary cards as commons.
Finally, I don't know how much the money cards are going to drop with them as Mythics. Can you imagine Bob or Tarmogoyf as anything other than mythic?

Most speculation I have seen puts price drops at 10-15% for original printings of the cards. What will likely take the bigger hit is the foil versions of modern playable cards that are also used in Legacy/Vintage.
This almost reads like any attempt to make a cube-ish draft format using some of the best cards from the Mirrodin to Shards era. Not a true cube, of course, because you will have mutiple copies of c/uc cards in any given pod.
Not every card in here will be at $5+ and a lot of the commons/uncommons will just be general staples of the format (path, lightning bolt) or borderline cards that may show up in fringe play. I hope they avoid the trap of some of the Master's Edition online sets, which had a lot of crap in them.
As for rarity on the higher end cards, I can see why they put Goyf as a mythic. However, stuff like Bob or Thoughtseize could very easily remain in the rare slots and it probably still will not hurt their value too much.

I doubt old foils will be hit much, if at all. Typically foils are a lot more resilient then normal versions as far as pricing goes (example: grim lavamancer m12 foil $3, torment foil $30, solemn m12 $10, mirrodin $30). There's some exceptions, but especially with new art old foils will barely move. It depends on how limited the run will be, but a card like bob or thoughtseize in a normal rare slot could very well halve it's price.
Cheers

Modern Masters: preorders at $250 a box.
To be honest, this looks like a no-go. It includes a bunch of powerful rares, but the potential value at $14 a pack is pretty low.
10 out of 15 Mythics and only 7 out of 47 rares are above the $14 price per pack. What's even worse, there are 20 rares that aren't even worth a normal $4 pack. Thirty rares are below the $7 per pack price.
What peeves me is no thoughtseize. I hope that means they will be reprinting it in the next block.

Don't forget that there's a foil in every pack. There could be some added value there.
Honestly, I would not pick up a box unless I could find one at under $200. Even then, I would only be getting it to hold and flip for cash later. The EV on cold opening a box of this seems kind of low, even with many of the good C/UC cards added in to the mix.

Only the foil Rares/Mythics and a select few foil uncommons will be worth anything. I haven't run the uncommons/commons through a price lookup tool but many aren't worth anything.
Even then, if it's modern/legacy playable the sought after foils will be foreign. Only EDH staples would be worth more in English.

The commons are pretty much terrible. Most of them are niche cards that are there purely for the limited aspect of this set. Stuff that stands out to me are Lava Spike, Search for Tomorrow, Rift Bolt, and Spellstutter Sprite. I don't see anything else that typically went for above bulk, outside of fringe playbles like Petals of Insight.
You have a handful of good uncommons, although most of the stuff that was bumped down from rare was already just a shade above bulk prices to begin with. Standouts in the uncommon slot are: Krosan Grip, Flickerwisp, Shrapnel Blast, Eternal Witness, Spell Snare, Desperate Ritual, Trygon Predator, Lightning Helix, Electrolyze, Mind Funeral, Manamorphose, Kitchen Finks, Paradise Mantle, and Path to Exile. Those are the only things I really see that typically have been going for more than $1.

So, infinite MM at $250 a box is available at my store. I am tempted to buy and hold...
Any opinions now that some of us have drafted it?

I don't think any of our group has drafted it yet. I'm going to draft at 11:30am on Sunday. They're doing $35 drafts with 8 man pods, with 2 packs of modern masters per player (so 16) for prize support with 1st getting 7 packs.
I picked up 5 packs today at MSRP ($6.99 per pack), our local shop owner Mike opened the floodgates for a short time today allowing up to 5 packs this way. Needless to say he went through a case in about an hour.
Some guys who were at netherworld said the drafting is a blast, supposedly affinity and storm were both very viable

Lost vs storm. It is very viable with all the goblin pump and Mogg War Marshals.
I almost went affinity but wussed out. Too many sunburst at 4+ that look bad. On the other hand, I did end up with two of the modular 1 flying guys without even trying.
