My coworkers and I play Vintage decks on Wednesdays at lunch, and I just tested a deck I made tonight against another I’ve used a couple times. The final game turned into Sheoldred wars using the veteran deck’s only Sheoldred. To make a very long story short, she came into play, was killed by a Phantasmal Image, only to be Body Doubled by the opponent, then resurrected by Volrath’s stronghold twice in order to stay in play, and (with a lot of other action in there involving Player A’s Prime Time, Grave Titan, Acidic Slime, and others vs. Player B’s Body Doubles, Fleshbag Marauders, Mulldrifters, Mirrorworks, and Mimic Vats) Player B managed to untap with 4 Mimic Vats (two mirror tokens), with the deck’s only two Body Doubles imprinted, as well as Player A’s Acidic Slime, while Player A has Sheoldred in play. At the end of the untap step, Player B created a Body Double coming into play as a Phantasmal Image to kill Sheoldred, putting her on the empty vat, then created a Sheoldred and brought back a Mulldrifter. Then creating another Body Double, doubling Player A’s Grave Titan, already having 4 non-sick zombies from a previously killed Grave Titan copy, proceeded to swing for lethal. Upon cleaning up I wondered if that tactic was in line with the rules, so I searched up this thread: www.mtgcommander.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10793and after it led me to believe I was wrong, and then confirmed I was right, I got to Carthain’s 6:27 post and then MIND = BLOWN. PS – After the lolz, I came up with the answer, which is not what Viperion posted.
