I was reading the following article from Sheldon on SCG: www.starcitygames.com/article/25626_Post-Gatecrash-Changes.htmlIn this article, specifically the section on Jarad, he mentions that he can use Necrogenesis to exile Jarad from his own yard and put him in the command zone instead. Does that work? I thought if you chose to let your commander go to the yard, and your yard got exiled, it was gone for good.

From the EDH rules page - www.dragonhighlander.net/rules.php"If a Commander would be put into a graveyard or exile from anywhere, its owner may choose to move it to the command zone instead." FWIW, I thought that was the rule as well. I have no idea if they changed it when they created the command zone as an official term or if it's always been this way. I distinctly remember it being brought up before as a downside to playing something like a Child of Alara deck (since it has to go to the yard), so I really think it changed at some point.
