well one of the problems with Kazul, and the main reason I didn't go with him, is that he's pretty easy to kill. But in combination with Ghostly Prison, he's still not terrible.
I kind of like the idea of Ghostly Prison in an isochron deck. That way once your opponent pays the two mana to attack, u just nuke their creature. I think your list doesn't have enough isochron spells though, especially burn. I like silence more than most people, but if your going to play it I'd say you need a lot more land denial elements.
Good start though, I'm sure there's more ideas that can be drawn from it.

What would you say for more Land Denial? I don't want to clutter up the list with Armageddon, or Crucible...

Off the top of my head, some different ones would be-
Scepter of Dominance Magus of the Moon Blood Moon Fulminator Mage Molten Rain Boom // Bust
But I'd probably just not run silence. If you do run it, I'd think about doing a 12-14 LD spell plan where the deck is incredibly focused on this. The one problem with that approach though would be that zoo would most likely get around the issues, and thopter-depths might still be able to play through it unless your real real quick. On the positive side, they can't spell snare a silence, so yay!

Personally, I don't like the Isochrons in your deck. I get the feeling that if you played enough games with it, you would eventually notice that there are too many situations where you don't have anything to imprint on the Scepter. I know I've run into that problem a few times myself, and I run over 20 targets for the Scepter.
