a.k.a., "John, I might need to take back those Flagstones..." Petr Brozek has gone 8-1 so far in the GP with a Standard deck: Creatures: 4 Steppe Lynx 4 Goblin Guide 4 Plated Geopede 3 Zektar Shrine Expedition 1 Jotun Grunt Spells 4 Lightning Helix 2 Magma Jet 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Shard Volley (which reminds me, we really need to get autocard installed on this board) 4 Searing Blaze 3 Path to Exile Land 1 Plains 3 Mountain 3 Sacred Foundry 4 Scalding Tarn 4 Arid Mesa 4 Ghost Quarter 4 Flagstones of Trokair SB: 2 Jotun Grunt 3 Reflection Trap 3 Volcanic Fallout 3 Smash to Smithereens 3 Damping Matrix 1 Oblivion Ring Plays like the Standard deck of the same name, except with more burn and Flagstones. The purpose is to abuse the hell out of landfall. Ghost Quarter on your own Flagstones, for example, is two landfall triggers plus whatever you played that turn. It's very possible to T3 kill if you go T1 Lynx T2 Geopede. Jotun Grunt stalls Zoo, Fallout for Faeries and Elves (the bad matchups, Petr says). Wizards covered it steamrolling LSV's Thopter Depths in Round 7 and GGSlive showcased the deck. I'm so tempted to play this, because Zoo will definitely have a target on its furry head after this weekend, and people who don't pay attention will be surprised by mediocre Zendikar enchantments. Fair warning, it auto-loses to Darkblast. UPDATE: 10-1. I ordered the last playset for <$10 off ebay.

Yeah I read about his feature match against LSV the other day. Seems pretty cool. If people expect this the meta will probably adjust with stuff like darkblast tho (especially since dredge could just maindeck it). Still, it's the basic boros package which is never that bad.
I think some of his card choices and numbers are horrible, they probably are due for revision. Also, are you really going to play this / need the flagstones back? If so I gotta figure out if I'm gonna shell more dough on my own deck or if I'm gonna make other arrangements.

Don't worry, I'm not going to play it unless the Flagstones come in the mail on Friday and I decide to sell my Goyfs at the tournament. Too bad the deck lost to a coin flip in the quarters.

I like the color combination right now. Red/white has a lot of good things going for it. John, you've been putting most of your efforts into the red/white decks...I would stick with it.
Matt, if you can get $100 apiece for your Goyfs, then by all means cash them in and just re-buy them when the season is over.
