Stuff I'd be interested in playing with that I have 3x Mox diamond 4 x goblin welder 4 x metalworker 4 x tangle wire 3 x serra sanctum (I think...I may only have two) 2 x mind over matter 2-3 x intuition 3 parallax wave 4 parallax tide 4 argothian enchantress 2-3 gaea's cradle 4x ancient tomb 2 x wasteland replenish and a bunch of other stuff that would be interesting to play again like brainstorm, daze, thwart and some of the other small stuffs. That's an interesting list of cards. You're about halfway to a couple of different decks. - Wasteland is probably the single biggest format staple. Like Evan said earlier, investing in a playset of Wastelands is probably the first step to anyone's Legacy journey. - Welder, Metalworker, and Ancient Tomb would all work in the MUD list I posted earlier. Not sure if you have any City of Traitors, but I know you have at least one or two Grim Monoliths available, so that could be a good place to start. I could loan you all the Wurmcoils and Forgemasters. - Argothian Enchantress obviously goes in the Enchantress deck, along with Replenish and Serra's Sanctum. The big problem I see with that list is the MOAT. I don't know if the deck is capable of working without it, but it's a $300 card. Just sayin'... If I were you, I'd start exploring the options with that MUD list, especially if you already have multiple Grim Monoliths and Goblin Welders. You can play around with some of the bigger artifacts until you find the right mix for you, and you seem to have most of the important pieces already. If you need some more of the expensive things, I could show you how to trade off some of your other stuff for the pieces you need. Also, John, this one is totally your kind of deck: sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=44236. I hope you proxy this up and build it someday.

Enchantress is perfectly capable of functioning without Moat. It helps you stay alive, but it is by no means a "must have Moat" archetype. The 4x Argothians and 4x Enchantress' Presence are far more important.

I'm actually not a fan of legacy burn. As much I like red and destruction I like decks that have some mid-game or can work themselves out of situations. Legacy burn is a bit too suicidal for me. If anything I'd like to play a few games with that pox black deck or show and tell. The thought of casting a Liliana on turn one sounds awesome and I've been on the receiving end of turn two emrakul so I know how that goes sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=43739

Probably not, just because financially I've been in a bad spot for some time and I have a heft of expenses to deal with at the moment, but I may try to aquire some lilianas at some point. I've accumulated some draft winnings over the past month, elspeth, garruk, lich, etc, so I might sell them on eBay to help get at least something more basic going since I think I still have my black beatdown deck together

Dallas Top 16Couple Maverick lists (one with Punishing Fire, one without), and a Stax list that Pat would enjoy (complete with four Tangle Wires!)

That stax list looks mean as hell Yeah, it is. You have to be a special breed of player to enjoy playing Stax. I've seen mono-white versions that run main-deck Armageddons.

Double painted stone in the T16? Wow. I guess faithless looting gave the deck a good boost.

Those painted stone lists also look very strong and I'm sure faithless looting gives them just the amount of gas they need to be even more competitive. That 11th place list runs 7 blood moon effects in the main . . . Yesterday I found a big bag of magic cards I thought I lost, nothing expensive but it did have my black legacy deck and a type two goblins deck so I might be interested in a Saturday legacy tourney at some point if others are going. My brother and I are going tonight, bringing my new Pod deck and my gobbos

I like Imperial Painter and think it's a cool concept, but the high price on Imperial Recruiter likely means I will never touch the deck. It has a very cool plan of attack and has so many mini-combos that are just so much fun.
Glad you found the deck. Can you post the current list? I might be able to offer some (cheap) ideas that could help you out. I played a lot of suicide black back in the day.

What about a hybrid welder mud/stax deck? (I only propose this cause I have tangle wires and smokestacks as well and it would get me closer to a more complete legacy deck)
something along the lines of
4 smokestack 4 tanglewire 4 Grim Monolith 2 Lightning Greaves 2 Lotus Petal 1 Spine of Ish Sah 1 Staff Of Domination 3 Voltaic Key
Artifact Creatures 1 Blightsteel Colossus 4 Kuldotha Forgemaster 4 Metalworker 1 Sundering Titan 2 Wurmcoil Engine
Artifact Lands 2 Darksteel Citadel
Creatures 4 Goblin Welder
Legendary Artifacts 1 Mindslaver 2 Mox Opal
Sorceries 4 faithless looting
Artifact Lands 4 Great Furnace
Basic Lands 2 Mountain
Lands 4 Ancient Tomb 2 Buried Ruin 4 City of Traitors
goblin welder would be ridiculous with two smokestacks or two tangle wires in play. Eot welder out a stack for a fresh one and sack nothing, or end of my turn welder in a fresh tangle wire.
Also would be useful with active forgemasters, end of their turn sack it to get something good and once again tapping or sacking nothing.

I could definitely see a combination of the two, they both share 60% of the cards anyway. You'd probably want to pickup or borrow wastelands as that card seems pretty important and I also see the blood moon effects as particularly effective in this format.
I played with faithless looting the other day in a standard goblins deck and I felt like I was cheating. That card is fricken awesome and definitely should be a four of like you have it. I think it is the better choice than having stroke of genius and blue manas.
Andrew ill try to post my black list later, its very rough but that's entirely due to cash restraints

Pat - I like that list a lot. There are always some improvements you could make, but they would be costly and honestly I don't think they're that essential. The biggest would be adding a Crucible and 2-3 Wastelands. Like I said though, I don't think that's by any means essential. It just gives you a little extra disruption and a way to get back lands you might pitching to Faithless Looting.
Welder tricks are great. Between tangle wire and smokestack, you have two great targets that can mess up your opponents and not really impact you much at all.
