I was just saying last night at standard how I think junk tokens is still really good and underplayed. Brandon took it to second at states (albeit with 3 tusks main) and it was fairly dominating. Between souls, selesnya charm, virtue, rancor, and some other stuff you've got a pretty good set of resilient cards. I saw a guy using trostani like you mentioned the other day so I could definitely see something happening there.
I'd say to be prepared for the following-
Bant / Naya - there seems to be a lot of this these days at least in local circles, the usual cast of tusk, resto angel, huntmaster, sphinx's revelation, angel of serenity, loxodon elephant dude, bonfire, thalia, etc. Lots of midrangey value cards.
American Midrange - a semi control deck that can audible into midrage or vice versa, similar cards but adding in snapcaster, thundermaw, counters, etc. Aka TCG 50k lists. There were 3 in the top 8 I was in on Saturday.
Jund - still alive locally, Olivia, huntmaster, tusk, loads of removal, rakdos return
B/R zombies - very common on Saturday, and Misty, and nationally. Aristocrat, thundermaw, the usual zombie package, and then lists sometimes diverge into a blood artist + sac outlet plan, a vampire plan, or just straight beats + burn (the best route).
I went 3-1 last night, beat Mono Red Burn, lost to Evan with Naya in 3 games with a matchup that I think I'd lose 9/10 times, beat G/W Aggro, and beat Bant. Changes I made to my Saturday list were switching one management soulbond guy with vexing devil, taking out the non pillar burn for traitorous blood and brimstone volley, and revising the sideboard a bit. I'd still like to tweak quite a bit and find some better options against all the stupid lifegain out there, but there's not too much to work with in straight red and I don't have the funds for other stuff nor the interest in borrowing for local tournaments. Plus now I've seemingly become the local respectable red player to several in the area so I gotta hold true to my guns.

Lol Andrew if only I had the money ;D . I do however want to revisit a look at R/W Humans, as someone the other day pointed out that my red deck uses a lot of humans and I remember some of the early Avacyn SCGs had some cool human lists that had explosive plays.
Travis, this is a deck that doesn't involve a lot of the cards you mentioned wanting to avoid and it supposedly crushes a lot of the field. It's top 8'd twice recently and the original pilot apparently dominated the first go he had at it. Note some very interesting metagame choices-
Main Deck 1 Zealous Conscripts 1 Goldnight Commander 4 Huntmaster of the Fells 4 Izzet Staticaster 4 Nightshade Peddler 4 Angel of Glory's Rise 4 Mulch 4 Faithless Looting 4 Unburial Rites 4 Chronic Flooding 2 Izzet Charm 1 Tracker's Instincts 4 Cavern of Souls 1 Clifftop Retreat 1 Sulfur Falls 2 Hinterland Harbor 1 Sunpetal Grove 4 Rootbound Crag 2 Hallowed Fountain 4 Steam Vents 4 Temple Garden Sideboard 2 Izzet Charm 2 Zealous Conscripts 2 Goldnight Commander 4 Cathedral Sanctifier 2 Rolling Temblor 1 Geist-Honored Monk 2 Ray of Revelation
I think one of the advantages to playing any kind of Unburial Rites deck these days is the fact that people are playing soooo little hate locally for it. Whatever build you do, Junk Rites, 4 color rites, etc, people often have 2 sideboard cards if any against it and figure that your plan is "all in" when there's actually like 3 or 4 different lines of play and a pretty solid deck to begin with. It's a great local metagame choice.

Hmm, not bad. It looks like a giant pile of randoms on paper, but I can see the synergies it might have, and I'm not above picking up a couple more Huntmasters, as they are starting to see more play in Modern/Legacy.
Is this the Chapin list that he wrote about today on SCG?

Pretty sure it would take me at least a couple of weeks to order cards and put in enough practice with this list to take it to a bigger event, but at the very least it's a deck I can acquire for a reasonable price. I'll start putting some stuff together tonight.

One more deck idea for you Travis which I think has some legs, although it does require x4 Tusk and a whole slew of other cards- 5-Color Control (3rd Place, SCG Baltimore) mtgpulse.com/event/11435#159203

I could probably spring for the four tusks, since they are.looking better in other formats, but probably not the others. I think I'll try the reanimator route for now.

Went 3-1 in standard again tonight, lost to reanimator because I didn't think anyone in Madison was playing it. Definitely a match where I wish I had thundermaw, bonfire, and tormod's crypt. Beat RDW, 5-color control, and u/w humans.
Tried out a lot of new cards, mostly sideboard, of them I really liked cathedral of war the best and maindeck traitorous blood. Here was my list-
4 Rakdos Cackler 4 Stromkirk Noble 2 Stonewright 4 Ash Zealot 3 Lightning Mauler 4 Pyreheart Wolf 4 Hellrider 2 Archwing Dragon
4 Pillar of Flame 4 Searing Spear 2 Traitorous Blood
21 Mountain 2 Hellion Crucible
Sideboard 3 Cathedral of War 3 Mizzium Mortars 2 Furor of the Bitten 2 Flames of the Firebrand 2 Nightbird's Clutches 2 Frostburn Weird 1 Traitorous Blood
Going forward I bought some Zealous Conscripts and I'd like to try them along with cathedrals main, tormod's side, and a few other ideas I've been brewing.

I ordered a bunch of cards from T&T over the weekend, including a set of Zealous Conscripts, Unburial Rites, Peddler/Staticaster, and Angel of Glory's Rise. When they get here, I can start messing around with standard. I might also be interested in trying something like this out: sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=51660. I would have to find someone with a set of Geralf's Messengers, but I have the rest.

I most likely will be attending both Tuesday Standard at Misty and Friday Standard at Mox Mania. Feel free to join in if you get your cards in time. These are great playtest warmup tournaments for bigger events anyway as both are 4 rounds and have an FNM environment.
I'm not a big fan of B/G Zombies, I don't think it has the legs to get through some decks.
Lotleth troll in reanimator however is quite annoying (although not good in the angel of glory's rise build).
Did you get any thragtusks or are you forgoing him?

I haven't gotten any yet, but I'm still looking for them. In the meantime, I can roll with the Human reanimator list for now.
