Ok, I'm making this the official thread here, lets get the discussion going. SCG MilwaukeeThere's a lot of people interested in this, Travis you said you for sure wanted to go, Andrew sounded probable, and I know a few others of the regulars were. At Mox Mania, I've talked to at least 6-10 people who are all interested and the owner there has rumored about the possibility of getting t-shirts for his store and paying like $5-10 to wear them at the event if we go (which I'm cool with because Mike is awesome). I'm taking money out of my taxes this month and setting it aside to play in the events, I assume it's going to be a 2-day affair although I wouldn't mind skipping legacy depending on what caravans go up there and what people are staying for (Travis and Andrew obv. would be playing legacy). Do people want to order a hotel, and if so should we do that this month? If we do that I'd probably play legacy if I can borrow a deck and given that we have some time I can't imagine that being too tough. (side note - Mox Mania is running a win-a-box standard tournament on Tuesday for $10 entry. Definitely worth coming to and it might become a regular thing if there's a good deal of participants) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Event Details, Possible HotelsSCG Milwaukee, April 13th - 14th (Saturday/Sunday)Delta Center 400 W. I'm definitely in, and I've even managed to clear calendar space with Jenna. Definitely playing Legacy, maybe Standard as well.

So, if we get one more, to get the cost of the hotel down to 25 bucks a piece, I'm in. I'm in the process of looking for a job, so this should be an affordable endeavor. I'm guessing the main event is standard?

Main event Saturday is Standard, Main event Sunday is Legacy. We'd really only need the hotel if we plan on going to both (or one + side events next day)
Travis mentioned an interest in staying with friends, hopefully dog you'll reconsider that (and I think a hotel in walking distance would be a lot more fun) but let me know.
I'm going to talk to the guys at mox mania this week and see who's interested

That was really just an effort to save some money, but if it helps the group, I can join on the hotel. I'll most likely be playing something like this for Standard: sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=52786. Just need to find 2 more Huntmasters...anyone? As for Legacy, not sure exactly what I'll do. Right now, the two front-runners are Esper Stoneblade and Jund Nic Fit. Stoneblade would be pretty stock, Jund Nic Fit would look something like this: sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=52863If anyone wants a reason to play some Legacy on Sunday, PLEEEEEEEEASE let me know. I have plenty of stuff to help fill in holes, or if you just need a deck to play. Depending on what I decide to roll for myself, I should have just about all the staples available (the biggest exception would be Tarmogoyf). Again, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. Finally, do we want to try and get some group testing sessions together, or just do our own thing?

I would love to play legacy if I had a deck....

Also, Travis, have you checked out my reanimation list? I feel like it's a bit more resilient than this one, particularly when it comes to graveyard hate, or sweepers. (Control)

- Sounds good that you'd be down for the hotel. I'm thinking of ordering it within the next week or two, after I get a chance to talk to some others. I'll let you both know when.
- I've been finding a lot of time to jam games on cockatrice, and I wouldn't mind starting to do the same to sharpen my legacy practice. That said, an in person testing session is always immensely helpful.
What day of the week is typically best for people? I might be able to do a weekend day but I won't know until a few days beforehand. Also, probably be easier if we did it later (aka March).
- Travis I'll get you a list soon. What kind of mainstream stuff would you be 90% close to having?
- Zach's list is in another post under the standard section from a few days ago

Later in the week works best for me. I have basketball Mondays, bowling Tuesdays, and league basketball on Wednesdays for another 4-5 weeks (nothing after that).
I have just about everything for all of the following decks: - Mono red burn - UR Delver - UW Stoneblade - Esper Stoneblade - UW Miracles - UB Tezzeret - BG Nic Fit - Jund Nic Fit w/ complete Wish board - BUG Nic Fit - BW Deadguy Ale - Maverick - Junk control - BUG control - anything that doesn't involve Storm combo
A few specific cards I know I do NOT have: - Tarmogoyf - Show and Tell - Aether Vial (might have one) - Polluted Delta (I only have 1 Delta, but I have all 36 other fetches) - Third and fourth Huntmaster of the Fells (only own 2) - Third and fourth Vendilion Clique
Basically, I could probably supply cards for 2-3 different decks, assuming that they don't overlap much.

I'm in for both days.
Would be playing Omnidoor for standard - final list is in flux. Need to test verse red deck and black red aggressive decks to lock down the main deck. Then control would be more or less taken care of in the side board (also not sure what I need, how many slots I have will be dependent on how well the aggro matches can be solved as current side board is ridiculously weighted towards that)
and Welder Mud for Legacy. There are also a few cards main that I have yet to solidify and as a result could end up reiterating a majority of the deck. For instance, I like what welder does for me in the deck, but if I have to play chalice main, then I would either have to play cavern to keep things uncounterable and be able to play through the chalice or I would have to drop them. I would also prefer to have chalice active turn one as well which may mean needing city of traitors. I'm finding it weak to bug tempo, control, and occasionally if I can't get lodestone tanglewire in play, combo. So those would be what I'd need to address. I haven't really played it too much against something like zoo as there really isn't decks like that at mox mania, but I like my chances verse them as I can combo out very quickly.
Even when I lose with that deck I'm finding I can usually steal a game and with that I'm able to make it a match. So when I say weak, I mean I'm likely to go 1-2 verse those decks.

Id be up for delver, stoneblade of either variant or maverick. I think I would play the best with maverick, or stoneblade, since those are the decks I have a bit of experience with.

Well if we now have the four of us onboard why don't we order the hotel this weekend. We could still get more peeps and they can make their arrangements, etc.
I'm going to check with Christy about her schedule, what are your guys weekend looking like so I could collect cash etc. It should be $120 after tax, so $30 per person
As for a deck I wouldn't mind trying out Brandon's mono-blue delver if it's still viable. Gotta test it out online though

I'll probably not be able to get you the cash until we leave, but I'm in. We should set up a regular night for play testing both in person and on cockatrice. My best days for both are weekends. But cockatrice could be week nights too...
